The Mace DVR800RT3 is a Linux based, full featured "30 FPS per channel" digital video recorder designed for performance and reliability. The DVR accepts up to 8 security cameras for simultaneous recording, playback, network viewing and live display. Camera images can be viewed in full screen one at a time or in various blocks of up to 8 images on one screen. Switching between cameras can be done manually or by programming the unit to auto switch at regular intervals or when motion is detected. It features multi-client software, 1-channel matrix/video sequencer, video loop outs on all channels, 2-way communication between DVR and computer, and dual bit stream technology. The unit is capable of 30 FPS recording speeds per channel and uses the MPEG-4 codec along with a number of compression schemes to achieve high quality images while using minimal hard drive space. Juxtaposed to the main 160GB storage drive, this unit features a built-in DVD burner to record short term event footage for quick retrieval and transfer. In addition to the internal hard disk, this DVR is expandable up to an amazing 4TB. The DVR is network enabled for remote Internet viewing and control, with a password authentication system determining the level of access for each client. An operator can also use a PC with an Internet or LAN connection to control the pan, tilt, and zooming functions of certain PTZ dome cameras in full screen. The DVR features a user-friendly on-screen display offering quick and easy setup and operation. Search and playback is a simple function with front panel VCR-like controls offering fast and slow playback in multiple speeds. All DVR controls can be accessed from a distance using the supplied IR remote control unit.
