The Alcatraz 8 channel DVR's come with a DVD-RW drive built-in that will easily allow you to create backup video of any event, and allow you to play this backup disk on any standard PC with no proprietary software required. A DVD disc has roughly six times the capacity that a regular CD does, allowing you to store more footage on a single disc. Also, the Alcatraz 8 channel ALD-810U DVR has an additional USB port for information backup.
